Default o2 sensor for up pipe

I want to know what resistor I need to purchase for the o2 sensor in the up pipe. I know you buy them at radio shack, I just don't know which one. I have a UTEC, and full exhaust system that I need to install onto the car. Do I even need the resistor to install all these things so I don't through the cel from the uppipe? Please HELP!

Please search, its been covered 1,000's of times before....

Its not an 02 sensor in the uppipe, its an EGT sensor.

If your not putting in an aftermarket uppipe, dont **** with it.

2.2K ohms.
As stated it is the EGT sensor not an 02 sensor. If you have the factory uppipe with the cat still in place the EGT sensor has an important function, it monitors the cat for overheating. The sensor should be replaced with a working one if it has failed rather than bypassed with a resistor. If you have installed an aftermarket catless uppipe then it is acceptable to use the resistor. In this case if you have not already done so the EGT sensor should be replaced with a bolt inserted in the bung assuming your uppipe has one.

Default EGT sensor

Thanks for the correction. I have the turbo XS uppipe, a 4" down pipe,a race pipe to replace the stock cat and a 3" catback exhaust. I also have a Turbo XS UTEC. I have yet to put these items onto the car. I need to know if I need to get the resistors for the EGT sensors? Thanks for any help you can offer.

You will need a resistor for the uppipe. You will also need the resistor/capacitor fix for the exhaust. Search for MIL ELIMINATOR or Pony Express and you will find it. Uppipe resistor is $2 for 6 at Radio Shack. The other fix is around $20. ScoobySport makes an electronic fix similar to the MIL ELIMINATOR for $70 and it is supposed to be "better".
