Question help me out

i got a 2000rs and its stick. I get this wooshing sound(also sounds like a washing machine dryer) from the back of the car when i drive. It becomes louder when i go fast with my car. 10-40mph sound is not too loud, but when it hits 50-80mph sounds really loud inside the car. I think its the differential, but im not really sure what it is. what can i do to get rid of it?
Please help

I bet it's a wheel bearing. Our cars are somewhat known for occasional rear wheel bearing failure, and the noise (kindof an oscillating roar) is similar to what I was hearling last week. I could hear it best at freeway speeds, if I put the clutch in and let the car coast.

As I have no garage, it was off to the dealership.

The fix can cost as little as $250 for just the wheel bearing install, but if the hub is also bad (the two are press-fit together) then the whole enchilada will cost approx $600. Ouch! I hate that sort of thing, but it's an inevitable part of car ownership, no matter what you drive.
