Talking My Borla header install.

WOOT WOOT, err, I mean, Burble durgle gurgle burble...

I got them installed, the hardest part was the header cat flange.

I contemplated cutting the nut off, but then a sudden burst of energy overcame me, and I torqued that bitch off.

The fit of these bad boys could NOT have been better!
The head bolt holes were about a half size bigger than they needed to be, and slid right into place.
The cat flange holes were perfectly snug.

So, in all, it took me about 3 1/2 hours to install these things, but only 5 minutes to actually put them on.

Now I am the header/cat flange MastAr!!!

Oh yeah, I didn't even get a baseball cap...

these headers aren't ceramic coated or anything, are they ?
and do they come with a replacement y pipe ?
mine was busted up and I'm thinking this is possibly a good excuse to upgrade.

They're just plain stainless steel.

The only thing that came with them is a small Borla sticker.

I don't care, I love them. Now for a catback...

Amen brother.

I'm ordering a catback this week.
With my SPT intake, yes loud.
But still extremely quiet at cruise. Not for long...

i got mine from Renick too....took less than a week to get em, i waited longer for the gaskets than the header. I love the sound, i honestly didnt think id hear much difference with the stock exhaust...its still rather quiet, but definitely a lot deeper and clearer. Now im saving for the rest of the exhaust. Im currently thinking Stromung catback.
<~~~ Oh yeah, its the disco monkey!

I agree with everything you said down to getting teh Stromung.
That new cheaper XA model exhaust is looking real appealing.

My borla header goes on next week. My shop didnt have time to install them along with my Prodrive axel-back.. but the axelback is sweet enough for now. I need a bit more noise from my exhaust, and I'm hoping this will do the trick.

RallyOttawa - Install it yourself. Its so easy. If you can turn a wrench and actually have a few wrenches, go for it.

I've had my headers on since spring of this year and I love them. I'm just glad this thread hasn't been overrun with Borla-haters. They sound better than anything else, inexpensive, and they do add performance when coupled with a high-flow cat section and catback. I have both headers and catback from them with a random-tech cat. Couldn't be happier.

Got mine from Dale, great guy to do business with. Called up on a Tues. had the headers at my house on Thursday. 315 total with shipping. Not the cheapest but guaranteed to be the quickest with the nicest service.

i got mine from www.performancecenter.com for 234.99 + 20 shipping, it arrived in 5 days via ups ground and i live in canada.

very pleased! install was super quick! fit like a glove.

my only concern is that it is awefully near the oil filter... i dont know if excessive heat from the headers will affect the filter?

can somebody help me out with that one?

thanks.

The filter is fine unless you sit at idle a lot, obviously when the car is in motion there is suffucient air circulation.
My biggest concern was the proximity of driver's side power steering boot, for my peace of mind I loose tied a 18"x12" piece of insulation around it while still allowing the boot to move freely.
