Stereo headunit in OB

Hey everyone!!
My wife and I just bought an 2003 outback in Regatta red. Hopefully will pick it up tomorrow.
Does anyone know if the stock head unit from a WRX will fit and work in an outback??
Reason for asking is that the '03 OB has a head unit with only the cd player in it. Someone is selling a WRX head unit with both the cd player and the casette player in one unit. (The kids have loads of cassettes that they like to listen to on trips.)

I do believe that it should. You may lose a storage compartment, but its worth having 6 cds in dash and a tape deck. I use my MP3 player with a casette adapter and sometimes the laptop for trips to have better audio when the passenger is watching a movie.

Forgot to add...the WRX headunits are cheap too. I bought two slightly used units for $300.

Now my RS and OBS have the same unit. Great for trips.

There is someone selling two units on the private for sale forum that are just slightly used. ($150 each)
Probably will pick up one of them.
