Question Magnaflow Exhaust

Does anybody have a sound file of a magnaflow muffler and custom bent exhaust. Im concidering buying the muffler and having and shop make the rest of the exhaust but would like to know how they sound before doing so.

Take a look at Trubendz they have both a turbo and cat back based on the magnaflow.

I missed that, thought they had them for all the cars...
Their exhaust is popular with Fords (especially Focus) because they don't sound like Honda lawnmowers.

On the mustang's (I have a set), they sound great with a catted exhaust (Catback). Without the Cats, yuk!! But mustangs have a whole different system (xpipes, hpipes, catted, chambered, etc...

If you do a Cat back, I would expect it to sound good. Their Turboback includes a Magnaflow cat, one of the best. I would suspect it would sound good too. I don't know if I'd recommend the sounds of a magnaflow without the cat, might be to high pitched, Lawnmower style...

I have a Vishnu Signature Series Turbo back. It uses a MagnaFlow muffler.

I do not have a sound clip, but I can tell you that it is a deeper (bass) tone, and not at all "ricey" sounding. It does set off car alarms if you are driving down a narrow street.

It's not the volume, rather the low tone of the muffler that does it.

Highly recommended. Sounds mean without being too obnoxious.

I've got a Magnaflow muffler with Brullen headers. Definitely a nice low pitch rumble at idle, snarl at WOT. The headers make for a sharper crisper sound, especially off idle, and give a more surround sound effect, rather than having the sound come from just the back of the wagon.

I have an vishnu up-pipe, invidia down pipe and custom bent 3" aluminum exhaust system with one resonator and magnaflow dual outlet(2.5"diam) can. The exhaust looks much the the stock wrx muffler. The sound is not bubbly or high pitch like the tanabe/greddy/hks. The exhaust has much more of a deep growl. It sounds like a muscle car. I highly recommend this set up. email me if you want to hear it.

I had the Magnaflow on my 99 RS. I was running a fully custom 2.5" exhaust from the headers back, and I liked it for a while. When I was rallying, etc. it was cool. But driving around in a neighborhood it can be quite obnoxious. Highway speeds too, its very loud. At idle, it rumbles like a rally car, which I liked for a while.

I just installed a Prodrive axel-back on my GC8, and I like it 10 times better than the cheaper magnaflow.. I think it sounds more refined, yet still has that low-pitched grumble I was looking for... YMMV.

JUST HAD A TURBOXS TURBO BACK INSTALLED AT OMEGA MOTORSPORTS. I HAVE A HUGE AMOUNT OF ISSUES WITH THE SRVICE,INSTULATION AND PRODUCTS I RECEIVED.
FOR SOME REASON A MAGNAFLOW(UNK MODEL) WAS INSTALLED WITH A 2.25in PIPE HOOKED UP TO THE 3in PIPE ON THE TURBOXS SYSTEM.
IT SOUNDS LIKE A 1970 VW BETTLE WITHOUT THE PLIN PLING & DING DING IN THE BACKGROUND AND I AM NOT HAPPY WITH IT !
LIST OF ISSUES WITH THE SHOP-DENTED DOWN PIPE-GREASEY HAND PRINTS ON FENDERS,SOME KIND OF LUBE OVER SPRAY ALL OVER-MUFFLER-OVER CHARGED FOR PRODUCTS-TRYED TO DO ME ON THE INSTALATION-FOUND A NUT AND BOLT ON TRANSMISSION WHEN I GOT HOME - WHEN CALLING SHOP OWNER/MANAGER NOT IN. GREASEY FINGURE PRINTS BURNED INTO DOWN PIPE.
I AM GOING UP SAT-27 TO TALK TO OWNER-MAY CALL MCSD TO GO WITH ME SO I CAN FILE FRAUD CHARGES ON THEM !
THE LIST IS LONG AND I AM P'D. AT THIS TIME I WOULD NOT RECOMEND ANY ONE WAIST THE TIME TO EVEN GO IN THE SHOP.
O YA AND I THINK MAGNAFLOW SUCKS !! MUFFLER ONLY 3 DAYS OLD AND ALREADY STARTED TO SHOW SIGNS OF RUST ON WELDS.
BUT STILL IT DOES RUN BETTER-HAVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES-TRYING TO FIGURE OUT ?

Sorry about your troubles, but was it worth bring back a 4 month old thread?

I've never seen a speck of rust on my exhaust piping or muffler. Sounds like you have shop issues. Post in your regional forum (MWIC) so others in your area don't have the same problems that you did.
