why dont you just get a whiteline strut tower bar for your car?

they're cheap - http://secure.cartsvr.net/catalogs/c...ut&catid=13029

(ends are now silver on em, no more yellow)

just another option.

I got one for my legacy. The impreza was built off the legacy platform, so up until 99 stuff is relatively interchangable.

I don't know the size of the bar, it's oval in shape, and it's not like sway bars where size determines much. Larger size strut tower bar means heavier and more rigid.

Only issues I had with it was one of the bolts that holds the bar to the bracket got stripped. I think it mainly happened because they chromed the bolts.....the chrome plating can flake off the threads and you get stripped bolts. It happen mid way, so it wasn't because i mis-threaded the bolt. I had to use a dremel to cut the nut in half, but just then went to lowes, bought some good quality bolts, washers, and nylon nuts, and works fine.

A quick plug for Jamie's whiteline bars. I would've got one of those but the rear facing interfered with my hella horns, and I didn't like the front facing.
