Default How often do you use the IC spray?

I only use it when it gets really hot out there and so the car needs a little break. I still havn't used up the tank of water yet. So how often do you do it?

I use it all the time. The problem is I tend to forget it during spirited driving, when I need it the most. Has anyone tried mounting a spray button on the steering wheel?

Maybe we can mount the button on the floor under the gas pedal, so it will be activated when you floor it.

Default Washer fluid??

Anyone use window waser fluid in theirs yet (the blue stuff)? Seems it would be better since it has alcohol in it more evaporation=more cooling. The manual for the EVO states refill the intercooler bottle with "washer fluid".

I need to refill the tank every week. I press the button while I'm keeping the rpm constantly above 4000. I really wish they come in auto mode.

I used the sprayer to wash my hands, too.

Default washer fluid

Pure water will be more effective than an alcohol spray or windshield washer fluid. Putting some washer fluid type antifreeze in it may be good for the winter, but the coefficient of cooling of plain old water is better per unit of volume than just about anything else.

I asked an owl at the Subie dealership, and he told me three.

Want Auto Mode???? Get an Autospeed controller. One of the best I'd say for trouble free water spray. It takes temp difference from Ambient to I/C core temp & also factors in Injector Duty cycle to decide when to come one. Fully adjustable by the user. I rigged one of these up along with a very stealth I/C spray system on a friends WRX & it is perfect... once you get it adjusted right you can just turn it on & not worry about it. I did hook up an LED up by the factory clock so you'd know when it comes on. Very nice system.. I'm going to have to do the same to my car.

Ditto. I use a tank a day and I'm working 9hrs of that day! It's so hot here in Texas though.

Sounds like a good idea. I use it for hills, ramps, porsches, BMWs. I also sometimes forget about it. It is hot here so I think it does help a little on acceleration. Need more butt dyno to be sure.

water-yes
alcohol-NO !!!KABOOM!!!

My salesguy had just gotten back from a 3 day training on the car, and someone asked about putting regular antifreeze in the IC spray.

They said NO- if you can't drink it don't put it in (meaning water only) don't take that wrong and put orange juice in there or something

I drive with my right hand on the shifter and my left on the I/C spray. I operate the horn with my forehead.

I normally steer using my teeth unless, of course, I eating something or talking on my cell phone -- then I'll steer with my
knees.

-Sporty

~3,000km and I've gone through 45 litres of water in my I/C
spray!
