Default Reading WRX Gauge Cluster Mileage

I have a WRX gauge cluster for my WRX swap, but I am curious about what the odometer is reading on the cluster. I thought I remembered reading about somebody hooking up an STi cluster merely to read the mileage, but I can't find the thread anywhere. I looked at the wiring diagrams and it looks like I could supply a ground and a power source to the main CPU so I'm wondering if that will kick on the odo and tell me what I want.

Anybody have any ideas?

I went ahead and got this working over the weekend. It only takes two wires to activate the odometer.

If you look at the gauge cluster from the front, there are three green connectors. We want the connector on the right, above the tach. It is designated as connector 'A' in the diagrams. Again, looking from the front, the pin count goes left to right from A1-A10. We need to supply pin A7 (red wire with white stripe) with 12v+ and pin A8 (black wire) with a ground. Voila, your odo comes on.
