Yep...my fault; 'Stealth Back'.
I'll go back and make an edit. Why do the Greddy EVO exhaust if it only add 5HP? Does it not increase Tq through the usable normal range? I won't be racing so a top range gain does me now good IRL. Its good though that the sound is muted which is a necessity in my neighborhood. Thanks for the correction! - Janq |

Hey Janq,
I think the biggest gains come from changing to a catless downpipe (like the 4" Godspeed DP).........but obviously this is illegal for road use, though many people do it. I think with the stock DP and a 3" cat-back exhaust, you're probably only looking at 10-15 hp increase (at a guess). The other thing to consider is that the larger diameter exhausts very often (not always) increase power at higher RPMs at the expense of some low-end torque, so for day-to-day driveability this may not be what you're after. I'm going to see what Prodrive eventually offer in terms of exhaust/muffler with their 400 hp kit.....at least it should be reasonably quiet. I'd really like to fit a JDM all-titanium sytem (e.g. Cusco DP with hi-flow cat mated to a JIC or Fujisubo exhaust) for weight savings and performance gain.......but these are pretty expensive and may not be worth it on a bang-per-buck basis. |

is the Prodrive kit going to be an option for dealer installed by some dealers? I guess the UK does this and all parts are covered under factory warranty.
I would love to have a 400hp PPP dealer installed kit. |

I'm too am patiently awaiting Prodrive as that is my preferred choice for Subie mods. But I also want to do my due dilligence and be aware of the 'alternatives' that are out there.
Thats where last nights review comes in. I have a lot more to do though. Many of you guys have a lead on me as you were and/or are current Impreza/WRX owners and are already familiar with these various exhaust mods & manufacturers. The STi is my first Impreza as I've always been a Legacy/SVX/Loyale & GL man. Thanks for the feedback & info guys! Keep'em coming... - Janq |

Subaru has already said that they will nto recognize Prodrive mods nor warranty them as in England on the 2.0L. Now you might be able to find a dealer somewhere (i.e. Mastro in FLA) that will assist/support your desires, but thats on a case by case basis. - Janq |

I am taking a different route. Turboxs stealth back exhaust with high flow cat. I am not going to loose all that much performance going that way. Also I am porting and polishing the turbo. That should give me similiar results as a boost controller. I.e quicker spool and holding boost longer.
