Default '96 Legacy Outback gear ratios?

I have a '96 Outback with 2.2 engine and manual transmission. Could anyone out there tell me what the final drive and first gear ratios are?

The reason for asking is I am shopping for a new vehicle, possibly a Forester XT or Baja Turbo. One of my requirements is the ability to easily tow my camping trailer which weighs close to 2400 pounds. Our Outback pulls it okay but starting out on a hill is a real clutch burner. I was planning to get an automatic transmission, which I hate in concept, just for better towing.

The XT has lots of torque starting at a pretty low RPM. The final drive is 4.44:1 and MT first gear is 3.454:1, giving a total reduction ratio of 15.3:1. If this is a lot lower gearing than my '96 I might be able to go with the manual instead of the dreaded automatic.

From what I can tell the ouback has 1st of 3.454 and a final drive of 4.11

I have also read that it has 4.44 so I cant be sure. Is your transmission part number tz10222aba?

edit: Looks like manuals are 4.11 for yours

Thanks for the second link. Our car seems seriously undergeared so I wonder if it has the same 3.90 that was mentioned for the Outback Sport (Impreza) with the 2.2 engine. ('96 Outback with MT had 2.2, later years had 2.5)

I have heard that all 2.2L have the 3.90 final drive, but I am trying to verify this.

Thanks, 3.90 seems to agree with my gut feeling. The 4.44 final drive on the Forester XT and Baja Turbo should definitely have a completely different feel in first gear, which was the reason for my inquiry.
