Default Picked her up yesterday :) blue/gold va :)

I got my call yesterday as she was backed off the truck. As I fumbled out the door, I raced to the dealership just in time to see her being looked at by the dealership. Heh, it didnt even have a number yet, not even entered into the computer.

Here's some more pics of day1 . Gotta format the day2 pics and get em up soon.

http://monkey.recongamer.com/sti/day1/

One thing I have noticed over the first 200 miles is how smooth of a ride she is. The almost silent pur of the engine at idle, then the instant power you have. I can't wait till the break-in period is done so I can find a nice place to open her up.

Yes fun she is.

Any other northern VA owners troll these boards? My friend hits up some local bmw meets every friday. Do we have anything like that?

Also, I heard the new track up in penn. is real sweet. "Cannon run"? was it?

Guero,

Congrats player!
There are several NoVA NASIOC STi's cruising the streets.

Locally look for WRXWHAT (Blue/gold) & Meridoc (Blue/silver) as well as myself. I believe RobMarch (Blue/?) is out this way too. The fanous 944 Turbo Guy (White/gold) is from MD but he's been known to hit NoVA too as well as a couple of dudes from Rockville (Blue/xxx).

You can tell me (Silver/silver) specifically from most as my rear license plate bulbs glow red instead of the stock white.

Take it easy for the first 1K miles (you already know this). The quick & easy way to kill the miles and get acquainted with the car is to do a few laps of the inner loop of the Beltway. I killed 800 miles in my first week of ownership.

Heh, sounds like a good way to burn the miles

Where do you guys cruise around.

I'm around the alexandria area, and hit up fairfax for school (GMU), and occasional runs to dulles for work.

So far the only other STi's I've seen were at the battleoftheimport show at MIR a few weeks ago.

Typically I reserve my runs to the evening & night.
I'd be out right now if it weren't for the fact that I've been drinking and am about to go to bed.

Check out the regional posting area within NASIOC for specifics on get togethers and local happenings.

I'll see ya!

3 weeks of commuting to work with my wife forced me to get a radio.

I needed to drown out the "noise"

$150 Used Subaru 6 Disc In-Dash CD Player (ebay)
$130 Upgraded STi speakers (wilkins subaru)
$ 60 Tweeters
$ 5 Broken rear left door handle bezel

You can doooo it!

Yeah I had to put a stereo on. But the amps and subs come out nice and easy when I get a chance to take it the track or autocross it.

I like that idea, cheap & effective, and easy to undo if necessary.

I'm a little north, in MD, sporting the same color combo as Janq.

I have a very nice "weight compromise" sound system right now, if you're concerned about weight. The Alpine 9813 head unit has a very clean, high powered amp built in, if you want to save the weight of an external amp.

have a good one, and enjoy!

Hello and congratulations on the car, its very nice.

I live in Maryland and picked up our blue/silver last Friday and put about 480 city miles on it thus far.

If any of you are interested, we are meeting tonight with the Crossroad club; there will be the East Coast BMW club and DCEvo Club as well in representation. Last week I had the only STi there, and it gathered quite a bit of attention.

You can find more information at:

The meet starts at 6:30 pm, many sport compact people come around 7. I will be there sometime between 7:30 to 8:00 pm, and stay there until 10 to 10:30.

If I see you, I'll come say hello.

Don't think I saw you there janq.

Took some pics of the sti's that came.

Few more pics here: http://monkey.recongamer.com/sti/day3_carmeet/

I had a ton of pictures that came out a bit blurry. Too much glare on the cars from the big parking lot floodlights. I gotta tweak with my camera lighting settings.

Fun show though. I got to meet another sti owner, and check out the modded evos (boo). With the bmw crew and the rack load of mustangs / vetts, and older style cars it was a fun time.
