Congratulations!! I hope you kept the Skyline. I'm sure a lot of us would be interested in a short review comparing your thoughts of the two. I hope you're going to drive it to the next karting evening!

YES, YES... A comparison PLEASE.... I was considering getting an R32 GT-R but decided against it because of the price from Motor-Ex.

Thanks,
Adam

I just got back from a 1000 miles road trip. Sorry for the late reply.

RichQY...........I got it from Renick Subaru at Fullerton, California.

Cone killer..........thanks I can't do much of a review yet since I couldn't floor the STi yet. But so far, after driving it for 1000 miles, these are what I found.

The first thing is, the STi require a lot more gear changes during normal driving due to the close ratio gearing, where the GTR have much longer and space out gear ratio (8K redline in 6th gear the GTR is at 210mph just to show how long the gearing is in the GTR). So the GTR is easier (read lazier) to drive around town. The STi have much better low end power, it gets up and go, no turbo lag. Where the GTR is very laggy (My GTR have upgraded bigger turbos, so it is extra laggy), but once the car get on full boost, it pulls quite hard.

The STi have softer suspension, it is very comfortable for me (remind you these are just my personal opinion, I know a lot of people think the STi's stock suspension are way too stiff). The STi have more body roll. This is hard to explain, even though the STi feels lighter on its feet, but its turn-in is slower then the GTR, it doesn't feel as direct as the GTR. The GTR is 200 lbs heavier, but it has very quick reflexes, I guess is because it got stiffer suspension, quicker steering ratio and lower profile tires.

Driving position is better in the STi. I love small 4-doors sedan The GTR seats is much better though, the seat in the STi are just some regular seat with some fancy fabric.

I will give a more indepth comparison of the 2 cars once I get to drive the STi harder.

Yes I will drive it to the next karting evening, when is it at?
