Default Questions about cobb stage 2

I got Cobb stage 2 reflash a lil over a month ago and its great, but I have a few questions now. Im not seeing 16 psi in any gears at all, i did for a few weeks but im not anymore. Also does the reflash change the rev limiter to higher rpms or does it stay stock? I would call cobb but its the weekend kinda want answers now so if anyone has and ideas let me know

I thought ST2 was 15.5psi? Not sure about the rev limiter...

If I rember right they keep the stock rev limiter, they will change it upon request. If you where seeing 16psi it was probally a boost spike ( small spike but still a spike ) as the computer learns it will lower itself to the specs it was programed for.

When I first got my stage 2 it did the same, thing mine actually only hit 16psi a few times then settled down to 15.5

My stage2 was boosting about 16.5 lbs the first night I installed it. After giving it a while to "learn",it has settled down, but the outside weather has a big role in my boost performance. Lately
since I got the stage2 it has been hot and humid every day. When I drive it, I'll see 14.5 lbs of boost.
The few cool nights that we have had I took the wrx out and it ran boost right back at 16.5 lbs.
So Iv'e come to the conclution that weather has a huge control of boost performance.
Hope this helps

There are tons of threads here about hot weather and lower boost.

I have been getting up early on the weekends to drive just to experience the car on full boost (Cobb Stage 1).

My car won't hit 15.5 psi either...it never has with the stage 2. Believe it or not, I was hitting .11 mpa easily with the stage 1 when I used their restrictor hose.

Target boost is 15.8 psi +/- .5 psi for the stage 2. The most I can manage is .1 mpa on the stock gauge, so right around 14.5 psi. I emailed Cobb about it and they told me since I don't have a full TBE which isn't optimal, that could be the reason. I'm not sure I buy that since I was hitting .11 mpa easily before with the stage 1.

BTW, what are you hitting in all your gears? I have a hard time exceeding .06 mpa in 1st, so I'm more worried about that than not hitting peak boost. A few times I managed to hit .085 mpa in 1st so that made me feel better.

First off, your stage 1 was overboosting... you shouldn't have been using the Cobb restrictor. The boost target for Stage 1 is 14.5psi = .1mpa.
Second, stage 1 is designed to work with the stock exhaust, so....
Thirdly, stage 2 is designed for a full turbo-back. So the fact that you're a little off the mark as far as the boost goes isn't too surprising if you're not running a full TBE.
I'm assuming your removed the Cobb restrictor that you installed with your stage 1?

Yeah, I knew my stage 1 was overboosting but I left their restrictor hose in there since I figured it wouldn't hurt short-term.

I guess I'll just have to live with the lower boost since I don't have the full TBE. Hopefully, Cobb will come out with a map for my setup later since it seems to be pretty popular and that I can use the accessport.

Yeah, the first thing I did was to re-install the stock restrictor hose. I didn't like how the thicker Cobb hose stretched out my poor hose clamps!
