2001 GC8 RS!

Default New 2001 RS!

I just bought a 2001 RS with 24500 miles on it, I think I got a good deal. Anyway, the automatic window controls on the driver's side has a problem. The whole plastic unit that fits into the door that holds all the switches for the windows comes up when I pull on the switches to roll up the window. It's still stuck down on the side that's closest to front of the vehicle, but the backside of the plastic unit isn't stuck down to the door. It's not like that on the passenger side. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I hope my explanation was understandable

yeah i took my door apart and that piece fell out and i was like oh shi* did i break it?!

but its supposed to pop out
push down on it hard on all 4 corners and if it keeps poppin out, u could take the side paneling off <a lil tricky kinda> or just not pull up on it

If it is broken, your car should still be under factory warranty, just bring it to the dealer and have them fix/replace it

I guess the old school aren't like the bugeyes because in mine there is a screw that holds the little cup in. My guess is since nobody has mentioned it though that yours are different. Just a thought.

Does it look like there's a piece of it broken? The back slides into a little hole and then the front snaps in. Check if the back part has a plastic tab on it which would fit in that hole. If not. Take it in and have them do it under warrenty. If it does then try to slide it into that hole and snap the front down. I'll post pics soon.
