Default STi Good! Problems Bad!

I finally picked up my Blue/Gold STi over the weekend!
It's great guys, just like you've all been saying. I test drove it before purchasing, after the salesman drove it for a bit. He was almost redlining it. On one hand I thought, "What are you DOING!?" on the other, I thought, "Hey I can get used to this acceleration!"

Since then, I'm sticking to the break-in guidelines.
I see a few issues with the STi:
1. It seems like the SUBARU on the trunk is slightly skew.
2. The trunk doesn't open easily; needs a push while opening.
3. Bags are still on the suspension springs (What the..?)
4. Haven't noticed pinging yet.
5. Some manual pages were folded during printing.

Is there anything else I got to look out for?
And does the STi come with an SCCA membership?

Thanks in advance,
TerraHopper

SCCA membership stuff just needs to be filled out and mailed in.
They send you a bunch of stuff including stickers and a nice patch.

Now, you need floor mats, a stereo, a car cover, tinting......

Have fun and watch out for the crazy people. The wing makes 'em nuts.

Huh, what's this about SCCA membership? Is this a local dealership thing or should every Sti have received it?

Thanks.

Should have come in the glove box or manual area. Every WRX/STI should get a coupon for free membership.

Just think every year you could trade in your WRX/STI and get free membership.

#'s 1 and 3 are both common STi issues. #3 iss 100% a dealer screwup, they forgot to take the bags off during the pre-delivery inspection. #1 is probably a built defect.

I took S U B A R U off my trunk since it's easier to wash and wax without it. Also looks more JDM.

I also took the WRX Impreza badge off, and bought a new red outlined one to replace it.

Bah! We don't get the SCCA membership in canada? We do however get a CAA membership (roadside assistance).

Oh well.

Mine also has the bags even though I asked if they were taken off!

I also can feel that the bottom of the front spoiler was scraped when the driver took it off the truck. You can't see it at all unless you put your head on the ground (I mean really push your ear down).

The trunk release (inside the trunk) just needs a couple of good pulls and the trunk will open fine.

good luck

You can adjust how the trunk closes by the two bolts where the latch meets. Just loosen it and pull it up a couple of millimeters and retighten.

We get a roadside assistance membership also. I actually got 2, one through Subaru(for the 3/36 warranty) and the other through Cross Country Motor Club(for the extended warranty I purchased). Hope I won't need either.

Make the dealership fix your scraped paint while they are taking the bags off. I had this happen on my Nissan, and after a year or two whole chunks of paint started peeling off.
