Default Need some advice for a newbie!?

Hey guys, I am thinking about upgrading my stock wrx. A friend advised me to get the following parts... What do you guys think overall this will do for me?

Flex Uppipe
5 piece SD Gasket Kit
ECUtek Reflash
Samco Intercooler Hoses
NGK one step colder plugs

Like I said, Im completely stock, and just looking for some advice.

Thanks,
John

Lol.

Good starting mods for power:
-up-pipe/downpipe/catback

Good suspension mods:
-Coilovers

That should REALLY keep you busy for a while.

Flex Uppipe

Flex pipes have had mixed emotions, you may be better off getting a solid pipe for 1/2 the money. I have a gruppe-s pipe for 10k miles I've been fine, it's all in the installation.

5 piece SD Gasket Kit

again do some research on here, subydude is great but i've heard a few bad things about those gaskets. You can get a set of stock gaskets from the vendors around here.

Samco Intercooler Hoses
You won't see much gains with these with the other mods, this is more of a long term type of mod, it helps more as you mod more.

NGK one step colder plugs
useless at your stage, save the money

ECUtek Reflash
I have one and it's great, but if I were to do it all over again. I'd get a UTEC. Mainly because I've been slapping items on over time. With the UTEC you can download the stages from Turbo-XS, or have a KNOWLEDGEABLE friend or shop tweak the maps as you add more. Once you are set and happy with you're mods, either stay with the UTEC or go with the ECUTEK and sell the UTEC.

If I were stock, I'd get a turbo-xs stealthback, samco hoses, and gruppe-s uppipe, UTEC. that will make you happy for a few months. then it's suspension and braking mods.
