I'm expecting my STi any day now. My dealer is checking to see if there is a way to correlate new VIN's with the cut in date for the new code. Regardless, he stated that if mine shipped from Japan prior to the new flash cut-in that it would be flagged at PDI when the tech enters the car's data.

I just bought my new STi last Thursday. The dealer already had the ECU refresh done when they had the car for 2 weeks. I put 1000 miles on it so far, no ping, even in 110 degrees ambient temperature, going up a hill on the freeway at 70 mph in 6th. I think that was a good test

I haven't noticed any pinging on mine, have had it for a month and just under 1500 miles. I have no idea if it's been reflashed or not.
