Default Sti insurance rates......?????

Can all you Sti owners out there please let me know what I can expect to pay for insurance on the car per year. Especially those Sti owners who live in southern California, since I'm heading down at the end of October. What category does the Sti fit in? Since it has 4 doors I hope that is a plus to put it into a lower insurance category.
cheers Doug

I just spoke to my insurance agent last week, $2518 a year for 300,000/550,000 NJ (prob. highest in US). And I have no points or accidents (7 years). I'm married and in my 30s (late 30s).

My agent says there are three catagories and the STi is in the highest. They considerate safe but fast. Basically you could insure any high buck sports car for the exact same money.

good luck I hope you have better luck

I am only paying about $800 a year for full coverage. I am 25 with no points or accidents living just northwest of Philadelphia Pa. My 03 Ford Lightning is the same.

I dont live in Cali, but to give you an idea. A Supra Twin Turbo at my age was going to be $4500 / yr (with good student cut and driver's ed cut). The STI was going to be $2500 / yr. So it made a $2000 difference. Its under my father's name, until I move out for college, so its about $700 / yr. Very nice, especially for the amount of speed and power you're getting.

Robert~

o ya and this was with full coverage...

This was what I spent last night doing. Calling up insurance companies just to find out how much I'm gonna be getting raped.

I'm 20, turning 21 in just 4 months. Full time student, and never had a single traffic violation. So 0 points there. I live in northern virginia.

Single 20 year old with a good student discount still gets nothing.

I was quoted anywhere between 1200 to 1800 every six months for my premium. Statefarm being the cheapest, and behold the 1800 was with my current insurance company. Can you say ***? They want the most and I've had 5 years of history with them.

Anyhow, good luck with what you get. I'm currently talking my dad into helping me out with his policy.

I'm paying $1600/per year in Connecticut with no accidents but many traffic violations. $176 more than my old 98 Dodge Dakota, I don't understand, but I'm not complaining.

$1042 /year from 21st Century Insurance (i21.com). (I'm 32, no recent points/accidents)

That's actually $8 down from my 2002 WRX wagon....go figure.

My insurance lists my car as a 2004 Impreza WRX....how cool....

I don't think they got they're stuff straight though. It took them over a month to verify the VIN.
