Default Greddy E-manage on a 2001 relearning ECU

My friend was telling me about the e-manage unit and said that it should clear up the constant CEL and the it should improve power and performace.

From my research it one step up on the S-AFC and one step bellow the UTEC. From what I know the S-AFC in terms of the MY01's is that its pretty much a expensive guage because the ECU on the 01's have a re-learning capablilty so the settings may stay for only a few days or so. And the UTEC is beyond my price range.

I was thinking I should give the E-manage a try... to see the full potential of my car: Larry Ganz CAI w. K&N filter, UD Pulley, Borla 2nd Gen Headers, Stromnung Cat-Back and SS Dual tip pipe. I was able to get a 15 flat on the 1/4 and a 15.3 on avg. And this was done with the CEL and all. Auto-x'n is alot better than stock I think due to the UD pulley and the free flow exhaust. But again this was all done with the CEL.

I scope of the post: Will the E-manage be worth it even though the ECU will relearn the mappings? OR Does the E-manage cancel out the relearning capablities of the Stock ECU?

Thank you

What is you CEL for? I am going to guess that since you have headers and exhaust it is a P0420 Cat Efficiency. The Emanage will do nothing for this CEL. Your best bet to get rid of it is either figure some way to keep more heat in the pipe, or get a CEL eliminator from Pony Express.

The fuel correction on the Emanage is exactly like the Fuel correction on the SAFC. It modifies Airflow signal. If you believe that your ECU learns around an SAFC, then it will learn around an Emanage. I dont believe the ECU learns around either, but thats just me and eveyone has an opinion.

Timing does work and thats teh benefit of the emanage over the SAFC.

I tried an Emanage right when they came out and I could never get it to not throw an Intake Air Temp CEL. I ended up not using the fuel correction and using just the timing until I took it out and sold it.

I would just get in line with the rest of us and wait for an ECU reflash.
