Default Any free anti virus downloads? And do I have a virus?

I lost my antivirus program awhile back and am wondering if there are any sites you can go to to download a free program or at least a free trial?
Also, the reason why I think I have a virus is that I keep getting "undeliverable email" or "returned" messages even though I didn't send messages to the people mentioned in the returned mail. Does this sound like a virus? I know there's a lot of crap going around right now. Thanks for any help.

The undeliverable mail messages does not necessarily mean you have a virus. Most email worms/virii replace the FROM address in their emails with a bogus one from an address book or web page. That means that someone else who is infected is sending out viruses with your name on it. There's nothing you can do about that.

Of course, check out one of the free scanner to be sure...just in case.

Oh....and I bet any money that those emails are coming from AOL. I have received about 10 messages from AOL warning me that I have a virus.

Someone there should learn how to configure antivirus software.

Thanks for the help. I'll check one of those scanners when I get home. And yup, I use AOL and all the messages that were not delivered were AOL addresses. My gf is also having the same problem and uses AOL. Thanks again and any more info would be great.

Not if I can first.

The best free web based scanner I've used (and use) is HouseCall by Trend Micro. Auto updates itself. I use it every once in a while to check.

Actually, it's probably not YOU that is infected but someone that has your email in their address book.

The virus will then send itself out to names found in the victim's address book and will use one of these names to forge a return address. As such, the infected party may not quickly learn of the infection, while an innocent party may get the blame for helping to propagate it.

I also use this great piece of software. It has caught 2-3 virus over the time I have been using it.
