Default Prodrive Exhaust - How big is your piping?

So today I had my Prodrive exhaust (GC8) installed... and the hangers all matched up, but the piping was WAAAAY off. The stock pipe as I understand it is 2.25", while the Prodrive exhaust was more like 3" piping. Is that right? The box said it was for a GC8.. and the hangers all matched up. But I thought this was a direct bolt-on to my stock system. The shop welded a flange on to make it work, and I'm perfectly happy with it... just seems odd.

Also, the tail pipe doesnt really reach all the way out under the bumper.. its tucked under the bumper about half and inch. You can even read the word "Prodrive" on the back unless you crouch down and look really closely. It just seems very tucked under. Let me know your experience. Maybe its because I'm running rear spats as well?

BTW: It sounds PERFECT. This is the perfect exhaust for me. It's actually quieter than my stock exhaust at idle, but has a great low-tone rumbling when i tap the exhaust. There is no noticeable increase in in-cab noise, so I roll down my windows to hear the sound

Also, I'm getting some chattering when I start the car up, or start moving off the line. Sounds like its banging on something a little bit. Anyone else suffer from this?

Would solid exhaust hangers solve this problem? I really is a minor banging, but not perfect nonetheless.

I just put a Random Tech cat pipe on my RS, and I'm getting a rattle under there at idle that wasn't there before. I have to look into it further, but I can't imaginge what it could be. There is more clearance than with the stock cats, not less

If the pipe on your prodrive is 3", it sounds like it is for forced induction/WRX despite what the label on the box says.

Remember when prodrive says "built for the GC8" they actually mean the "GC8" wrx. If it was for the rs they would have said the forester or something else equivalent to what they have. Sorta like when Scoobysport doesn't make a RS muffler but they make one for the legacy/forester. Therefore when we buy a scoobysport exhaust we get the legacy/forester one since it's still a 2.5 engine and the same brackets.

As far as rattling and hitting things.. try to shake the exhaust and see if it's hitting anything if it is.. there's your problem

I also meant to ask.. what does the tip of the exhaust look like? Is it round or a oval?

BTW, I figured out that the rattle was the new cat bumping on the cross member. I had to heat and bend the pipe, problem solved.

I think the WRX exhaust says "Prodrive" and the GC8 exhaust says "WRSport." Do the flanges match up?

Flanges were significantly off. The shop had to weld specific flanges to get it to fit.

Where did you pick up the muffler? I've been trying to locate a Canadian source for a Prodrive muffler at a decent price... I know Prodrive and decent price are not usually used in together, but you know what I mean
