Default That goofy headlight blackening oven mod

I know this was a huge deal like a year ago, but do any of you guys know how to do the headlight cooking mod, without busting the headlights? I may want to do this and am looking for some input. Thanks
I think Labmie did it?

Eli

I think Todd tried it, too. Not sure if he was 100% happy with it.

I think it looks okay, but after experience with previous car, I'm willing to sacrifice the looks for my headlights not fogging up due to leaks.

Yep, I did it... I used a heat gun though. That was why I wasn't happy. They don't leak or fog up. But I melted the hell out of them.
Also, I don't know if it's because I live out here in the basement of hell, but have to polish the plastic every couple of months. It gets hazy on the outside. Maybe I burnt off some sort of coating on the plastic lenses or something....

Just get Morrette's, dude.

Congrats on the car, btw... You owe me a ride, don't you?

I've never been too impressed with that mod. The thing that is cool about the JDM/EDM projectors is the fact that they are projectors, not that their housings are black.

If I were to modify my headlights, I'd take out the orange condom and fit in some Philips Silvervisions. I think that looks a lot cleaner.

But that's just my .02.

Yeah, that mod makes the lights look really cheap looking. IMO

Thanks for the answers fellas. Todd, good to hear you are still in the land of the living. SO when's the big day? haha

I plan on having an old school SCIC get together at my pad. You all need to remember that!

Eli

Ashley, I'd like to see your mod. Will you be at ESX, D1 or Rife next week?

I did it and love it.

Its really fairly easy as long as you go buy a 3 dollar tube of silicone, have some screwdrivers, and an exacto knife (or razor, just something sharp)

oh make sure you have someone helping you too

I too used a heat gun. Are you supposed to take the lights out of the car prior to doing so?

make sure you see all the possible ways to paint it, theres lots of ways you can design your own fun light pattern. you can make a little fake projector out of your turn signals using some painted pvc pipe it looks fantastic IMHOMO. I was told the dirs are on clubwrx.net.org but I havent seen them
