I'd be willing to help (and I did build an amp myself) but I'm not sure I know any more on exactly how to hook it up than you. Where are you gonna mount the switch? Do you have a wiring diagram for under dash? Why do I feel like I've asked you this before in person?

I was about to do this but someone helped me realize it was a bad idea.

but if you are going to do it I hope you know you need a relay and the proper wire

google will show you how to do it

but you shouldnt do it

did you buy the button already?

if you havent, look into the zerosports start button kit made for subaru. its a complete package for a reasonable price for quality merchandise

Really? How much current is going through the key-based ignition assembly? They ignition assembly already drives a solenoid (a heavy duty relay) so I'd imagine a properly specced push-button would have no problem handling the current. The only problem is that even if it is a modest amount of current, I don't know if I'd trust my wiring abilities. You'd want to do it right with appropriate connectors around the switch assembly.

Are you working on it today? Do you have a garage? I was thinking of finally wiring up my seat heaters.

Hey post some pictures up when your done with the push start mod. How do these aftermarket push starts work? Are they similar to the one in the S2000?

Its a button you push to start the car instead of twisting the key. Like the F1 cars use. You still have to insert the key and turn it two clicks, then instead of turning the key further to start the ignition you just push and hold the button till your car starts.

OMG That is so awesome!!! Do I need a tubro charger for this mod?

I work at Chuck E Cheese, and I always steal the buttons off of arcade games. Can I use one of these? I like red because it looks racey.

This mod is SO WTLW...erice m. has a lighted-up neon one on his Toy Yoda. And that car has only been on the market for a month.

Go w/ the Zero/Sports if you still want to do it. It adds 3 JDM points at Import Showoffs and such.

Here's a writeup on how to install it on an Eclipse. The wires will be different but maybe it will help with the general procedure.

http://www.2gnt.com/www/files/ignitedstarter.htm

A lot of show cars have this done, so maybe someone on here will know the proper wires to splice into.
