Default SAC Meet! (8/30)

Alright, here's the thread for next week. I'm working out a location still. Lowball had a good recommendation for a location - some place called Whiteys, located in West Sac. From there, he proposed a drive down towards the town of freeport.

I work that evening at 9pm so I'm not down for the drive, but meeting up at an old school burger and shake place sounds good to me.

If everyone agrees that this sounds like a good location, let's do it up right. I'll cruise some possibilities tomorrow and post back later.

For now:

Who: All of yous!

Where:

When: Saturday 8/30 @ 6pm. Ending when the last person gets tired and goes home. Actually, if you guys do a drive, it could end whenever

Let's hope I don't show in a rental car - and let's try for a similar turn out as we had tonight. See you guys there!

Whitey's sounds like a nice place to meet. Here's an article about Whitey's Jolly Kone.

There's an event page about local happenings at Drive!. This free service might come in handy someday to announce a large meet to the public.

Unhappy

I won't be able to make it next weekend. Gotta go to the Bay Area and meet some friends for an A's game. But if you guys do end up going Whitey's let me know how it went. It's a dive of a place but they make some good gurb. It's right on Jefferson Blvd. in West Sac.

To get to the river road you have to go south on Jefferson past Whitey's and then turn left on Gregory Ave. and that turns into South River Road. You take that down until you come to the 1st draw bridge (a green one) and turn left and go across the Sac River. Once you cross it you turn left again and go right into the town of Freeport, which is on Freeport Blvd. Drive down that until you come to a 4 way stop light and I think it's Pocket/Meadowview, and turn left and then I-5 is right there.

May not want to drive the road at night if it's to dark unless you take it easy or unless you know the road.

Well again great turn out and sorry I had to bone out early. Guess I'll see you guys in September.

i'll move the time to like sunday night or something so i'll be free saturdays if we get this thing to be a regular event
^_^ be sure to tell us how the drive went,
maybe post a pic of a map on what route you guys are thinking of taking for the drive,
i'll drive it sometime by myself just so i can keep my experience up

Ever notice how hard it is to type after 8 beers?

I kinda' like Saturday, but I'd attend any day of the week...if I'm not tied up with work or Daddy obligations. Sunday maybe better for cruise days? I have this idea in my head that the roads are less congested on Sundays...but that idea maybe more of a Maryland (where I'm from) mentality.

Saturday evenings and Sunday a.m./afternoons work out for me most of the time.

You might need to post a poll. I can usually make either day but it's time-specific so it's a little tricky for me. I'll just try to make it whenever it takes place, if I can.

i'm currently tied up on saturdays, but i'm freeing that up later on,
either day works...there's give or take on both,
it'll be a case by case situation
who has plans already made, and whose working that weekend,
who can't get out of the house,
etc
poll sat or sun before each meet to get the largest amount of people and arrange accordingly

I should be able to make it to our next meet. I've been really busy with a special someone (no not Ashley, someone new) for the past few weeks and have been out of the loop on meets.

Saturday evenings are best for me, I'm usually free that night, and I can sleep in (sort of) on Sunday mornings. I definitally can't make it to any meets on Sunday morning (church), but late Sunday afternoons, early evening works fine.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, sounds like the meeting time and place is a bit unstable at this point.

Thanks man. We loved the drive down there and meeting everyone. We will be sure to make another meet or so a little later on. We also hold weekly meets if anyone is ever interested in rolling up to reno.

We hold ours every Thursday night at 7 pm at 4th Turn Bar and Grill in Reno. If you guys ever come up, you are welcome to crash at my house or some of the others houses. Come check it out sometime. (http://www.seccs.org).

We rolled down there with 5 cars, next time we should have at least 6 or more go down.

Let's keep it consistent at Saturdays. We'll probably get a smaller turnout anyway since a lot of folks will be out of town.

Any ideas on a new meeting place? A lot of people wanted something on the 50 corridor. I'm not real familiar with Rancho and East Sac so I don't have any suggestions. However, I will be happy to meet out there because I can drive the back roads (Prairie City, White Rock, etc.) to get there.

Saturdays are cool because you don't have to stress about work the next day! You can chill a little longer at the meets and possibly hook-up and do something after like a drive or go to a bar/club.

Sure we may have less turn-outs but if we all agree on a weekly meet at a certain location VIA POLL!!! then there will be no question on when/where the meet is in Sacto every week. If you can make it GREAT! if not, no harm no foul maybe next week(s).

ERIC
So start giving out some ideas on this thread then we'll post a poll with the ideas.

I only meant that this week we'll have a smaller turnout since it is Labor Day weekend and a lot of folks will be out of town.
