I am sooo boycotting watching any trailers, after the trailers for LOTR 2 practically gave away major portions of the plot. Pissed me off...

It's not very informative. A bunch of people riding around on horses. Gollum did say a couple things, though.

Well, most people who watched the movies have read the books, so the trailers didn't really give away anything they didn't know.

I read that they are releasing the extended versions of the first two movies theatrically. Plus most theaters will have both extended versions and then ROTK for the midnight show all in a row. damn, that's alot of sitting.

Well now i know i'm taking the day off!

I have several friends that have not read the books and the trailers for the 2nd one showed Gandalf, so it definitely gave away some of the plot.

According to Variety online, December 16th will have a 3pm screening of "Fellowship," followed by a 7pm screening of "2 Towers", and finally an 11pm screening of "Return of the King" that obviously would carry on through to the 17th, its release date. It is up to the individual theater whether or not they show the special DVD extended versions (208 min for "Fellowship" and 214 minutes for "2 Towers"); man I hope they do! Anyways, this event will obvioulsy not be at every theater, so get your tickets early!
