Default UTEC revision help

I was going to buy a new utec but someone local is selling theirs so i am interested in it. I wanted to get the newest UTEC and he says his is only a couple months old. I wanted to newest hardware, i dont care if the software is older because that is upgradable by just downloading it. He says the utec is running software 2.5b so maybe that can help tell which hardware verison he has? Is there something on the utec itself that says which one it is or how do i tell if it's the newest? I basically just want it to work on my 03 since his car is an 02. thnx

I think that you need at least a rev 5 UTEC. Rev 6 is the latest. Anyway, to determine the rev, look at the top of the UTEC. If there are two small holes through which you can see 2 silver toggle switches, I believe that it's a rev 6. If there is a small access panel that you have to unscrew to see switches, do this now. Once you unscrew this panel, if there are 2 silver toggle switches, it's a rev 5. If there is a row of dip switches, it's rev 1-4.

Call TXS and ask them, though, as they'll do a better job of guiding you.

HTH,

-Sean
