Default Anyone pass CA sniffer with just downpipe cat?

Subject line says it all. I would like to know if anyone has had to smog their CA cars with just one catalytic converter in the downpipe (catless uppipe and third cat eliminator pipe). A smog check is required of the seller when the car is to be sold to another party, at least in those CA counties designated like Sac and the Bay Area.

I'm trying to figure out which way I'm gonna go with the exhaust. TIA.

I talked to someone a while ago and he had bought a WRX with a turbo back. I asked him what did he do with smog test and he said it passed. He had I think the MRT (sp) turbo back with the cat in the downpipe.

I think the sniffer may be ok if it runs/tuned to be lean on the emissions. I am not sure about the visual through. This may be a problem.

Cheers

Nick
