Default Engine Mangement Question

Ok I am getting ready to turbo my 99RS. I have been looking at both the Link and Links Plus ecu for my car. I was talking to my friend today and he said I might not want ot run the Links plus because of the weather where I live. I live in Canada and it gets very cold in the winter and hot in the summer and I drive my car year round. He said my car would run like crap due to the changing weather.
My question is what should I do with this kind of changing weather?
