Post Replacing Gauge Cluster

To frustate Impreza Wagon „Brighton¤ owners, Subaru decided not to include a tach© I've considered getting the gauge pod that fits where the strange „but usefull¤ compartment on the hood is© But the cost and the small size of the replacement tach turned me off© Please tell me that I can easily remove the original cluster from a smashed RS and replace my tachless one© Many thanks©

Question

Your best bet is to find another car of the same year at a junk yard with the tach fitted.

I would believe that the fit and mounting would be the same, and maybe even some or all of the plugs. The question is does your car have the wiring for the tach in place?

I've been looking for an RS speedo/tach/gas/temp cluster for a while (long story). I don't know why no one wants to sell one. My only guess is the possibility of faking the true miles of the car.

I also have a Brighton, a 96 coupe and wish i had a tach. If you have any luck in finding one, let me know, or post it on here as i will be checking this to see if you found one and how much it cost and how easy it was to install and everything.
