Question Best Engine Management Upgrade?

Ok, so I am making plans to upgrade my '04 WRX and have read so much on different Engine Management Mods I can't decide what to do. From Unichip to UTEC to Reflashes...done by many different Tuners...etc...all very confusing to someone just getting into tuning...So here is the question...

In your opinion what is the best way to upgrade the engine management? Why? Please provide advantages and disadvantages. If reflash, what Tuner do you think is best?

I love the idea of being able to switch between different maps (especially security and valet mode) with the UTEC, but am unsure due to my nUb status in tuning if I will be able to use it effectively or if there is other options that offer similar possiblilities...

FYI...I read the Stickied post with different features of each, but I want your guys' opinions and experiences of what is good and bad about each and what you think is best.

Thanks in advance

Unhappy I was in the exact same boat....

...analysis paralysis. I did TOO MUCH research and concluded they were all the best. I finally took the dyno graphs from TurboXS stage 1, Vishnu Stage 0, and Cobb's Access ECU stage 1 graphs and ROUGHLY overlaid them on each other, using a pencil and straight edge to extrapolate common data points. My conclusion was that all three offer about the same performance increase and Cobb has a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. I'm thrilled with the performance. Plenty of HP and Torque for a 42 year old geezer like me!

It seems that unless you're planning to do your own tweaking of the chip parameters, it's easier and safer to just go with a reflash. Most reflash guys offer multiple programs as you add other mods (exhaust, etc.), so you have some future upgrades available...
