Post Anyone going to the PRO rally this weekend

Lake superior Performance Rally. Houghton Michigan. It's in the upper peninsula.

I'll be up there crewing for a guy named Brian with a VW gti in Production class.

I should have the subaru RS with me unless Ryan Plum comes with. Look for the black '98 with indiana plates.

I'm going! I will be in a my01RS Sedan/Silver with wisconsin temp plates on the back. I will put my companies sticker (Power, Inc./blue) on the back to differentiate from all the other scoobies I will most likely be their on saturday, and then try to find where the stages are. I am really looking forward to this. Any others?

it was a blast!!!! Saw dave's car, and about 15 bazillion other 2.5's.

Went to the banquet. Brian (guy I worked for) won the Production class title. it got real emotional when Paul Choinere's co-driver dedicated this year to his wife who passed away.

sorry I missed you guys...if anyone saw the guy at the copper harbor service area sitting on big piece of 3/16's aluminum, and pounding the living $hit out of it with a sledge hammer, that was me.

Pat Richard was at LSPR.
He went off course after getting a flat, and had to retire Saturday afternoon on Delaware II stage But he did get a few prizes, including a box of automotive goodies for the third most spectacular flight (they got it mixed and misnamed as a jump) on Brockway Mountain stage. Also he did get SCCA first place in his class, and SOA representative gave him some prize too.

Overall, I consider LSPR to be a great event. The rally ran on-time, the after-rally party/catering for the teams and workers was great, and rally hosts even organized a concession stand at one of the spectators stages that managed to serve 950 hot dogs! In addition, the Upper Michigan Copper Country scenery is spectacular, with tons of wildlife I managed to count 87 deers in two days while on the road to Houghton,MI and back to Minneapolis.

btw, Mike Shields was at LSPR too.

I had a great time too! I saw one other RS while I was there. I had one of those free hot dogs, that was cool. Overall it was a great time to finally see this sport. I will be back, eventually behind the wheel driving. The scenery was worth it alone. I also saw very many deer, two of them up close, one of them in a full tire lock attempt to miss which I did. Good thing the Scoobies are responsive. I also drove the last stage (Gratiot II) when they were done. That was a nervous blast. I did'nt want to hurt my car cuz it was very very rocky, did get a chance to have some good sliding fun. Alos driving from stage to stage was a blast too, fun curving roads. That was worth the trip right their.
