Default Massive Electrical Storm This Morning.

For the second time this week, I was awoken by loud thunderclaps and lighting filling the sky. This morning was even worse than a few days ago though - the windows rattled and the lightning streaked clear across the sky. I ended up unplugging all the computers, tvs and such, as one large strike managed to interrupt power for a second and I didn't want to risk any damage.

I did manage to quickly (and groggilly) set up the video camera, hopefully it caught some nice shots. I'll see if I can pull some pics from the cam to post.

Anyone else get a good show this morning (and I do mean the lightning specifically)?

Nice picture. Mine came from a vid-cam, so they are not too clear, but they look really nice in motion. Here are 3 pics from one strike:

Electrical storm hit hard in Stockton too. I usually enjoy sitting on the porch during such weather, but this storm was directly overhead. One strike I calculated at less than half a mile a way. Felt like the house was blowing up. Set off everyone's car alarms. This was all probably from about 2am - 4am. More lighting but less rain than last week's storm.

The lightning last night was amazing we watched it from Dublin, CA from 12am to 1am or so. I immediately called my friend in Pleasanton, CA who has a great digital camera since mine were horrible and he was able to snap off some good shots. here is what he caught.

sidenote: camera was on a tripod and I believe he had the shutterspeed set toa 15sec lapse

L8R,

Chris

wow that's dope... well as dope as something that can electrocute pretty much anything into oblivion and start fires to burn down homes, people and such but yeah dope nonetheless.

That stuff was damn scary, I was up at Del Valle...at the highest point of del valle to be exact..my friend lives out that way, one struck about 200 yds from us, anihilated 3 trees. It was insane, but cool....extremely cool. ...going back into town, looking down on all of livermore you could see lighting hit..and then parts of the city would sort of dim out...it was so sweet
