Post 2001 purchase prices???

Hello. I'm posting for the first time to find out what people paid for their 2001 RS.

I will be ordering mine late in december before they stop taking orders. I will be getting a silver sedan RS auto. Hold the flames.
This car will be my daily driver and future family mobile. I currently have 1990 G60 Corrado that is my weekend car. My wife drives our Tacoma. The wife will agree to the RS only if its an auto and 4dr. Fair trade off in my mind. I prefer the NA 2.5 as I already have a supercharged G60 which is a blast at 17psi and I don't want to deal with another forced air induction car. They are easy to bolt power on but have to be pampered more(in my opinion).

Please give me your purchase price with options. Also can I dicker much on the price if I'm ordering??? Thanks for the help in advance and not flaming me. Frank

I am going to pick up my 2001 at the end of this month. The dealership is giving it to me for $20,000. It has just about everything but leather seats, dual power seats and cruise control. Also if you want an automatic its $800 more. Hope this helped.

I have had my MY01 RS since August. Cause I'm close to Philly and the proces around here are a bit crazy, I paid a bit over 20K for a 2dr coupe, 5spd, no leather and every other option. Great car, hesitates at 2500rpm and 3500rpm and has a huge hole in the power from 3800-4500rpm. Right front speaker blew, so did that little pseudo-amp thing under the seat. I've had it in to the dealership half a dozen times. Other than that (do ya feel the sarcasm?) it's an awesome car. I have wanted an RS since 97 when I heard of the RS, now I finally got one. I've put over 3K in mods so far. I just prdered an AFC, intake and exhaust to hopefully fix the problems that SOA seems to have never heard of before. Yeah I'm a bit frusterated... but I still love my car...

Well I'm planning on about $21,300 with a few options. Some of the options can be had for less than SOA offers them for on the build your own car site so I have planned on getting the wheel locks, bra, maybe the fresh air filtration from the stock aftermarket sellers like www.subaruparts.com I feel that the gauges are over priced. I have a good source for VDO gauges if I ever want them. Plus I like the storage space. Thanks for the input and I hope others will continue adding to this post. Frank

word of advice... unless you want crappy paint, don't get the bra! it'll ruin your front end in a heartbeat...

I intend on only using it for the long highway drives. My 97 tacoma has 120,000miles on it. The paint is in wonderful condition except for the million rock chips from riding to closely. I know your concern is probably the dust and agregate getting under there and chaffing. When a friend uses his bra he puts a coat of wax on and doesn't rubb it out. This way the bra just polishes the wax in.

$20,659 on the road.

2001 sedona red RS coupe.
keyless entry
alarm
gauge pack (compass, etc.)
floor mats
full stereo upgrade (speakers,amp,etc)
6% Florida sales tax.

I bought this from Jerry (deadbolt) at Prestige Subaru in Asheville, NC. He took my bitchin' 1995 Impreza L in trade and the entire deal was done via email an telephone. I will only buy Subarus from Jerry since it was such a great experience. He's in Vegas this week, but I'd send him a PM. He's got two automatic sedans on the lot. Blue and red. I was going to get the sedan, but then my girlfriend wouldn't stand for an auto 'box.

Hope this helps. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

Question

when are they going to stop taking orders, because a friend of mine wants to order a car in jan., or feb. Will this be to late to get. I know the new WRX is coming april, so when are they going to stop taking orders on the RS.
Thanks

I was told by the local rep for the Va beach dealers, Greg B?, that there wouldn't be any orders accepted after January 1st. I wish I could have waited until August but oh well. I wouldn't rush out to by this car if there wasn't a major change in the appearance to the 2002. But there is a change and I want/need the 2001 RS. If I didn't have to have a silver auto sedan I'd wait and buy a left over but I doubt I'd find it.

matt in fl: Sorry it has to be Silver. 2 reasons. First silver is easier to keep looking clean. I have a silverish toyota and it doesn't show the dust like darker colors. second Silver is more of a stealth color when driving the highways. Cops don't pick you out as quickly. I like the maroon color, always have, its just a pain to keep looking sharp and it stands out more than silver. I already have a PULL ME OVER RED Corrado. Thanks

You should still call Jerry. Trust me, he can get whatever you're looking for, plus give you a great deal. I'd still send him a PM to see if he can get one.

I got mine in early Oct. for $20,258 on the road after taxes, but had to ship it to FL from WA anyway 18,900 for car and about 1300 taxes, tag, title. Keyless, Security, Premium speakers and sub, trunknet, armrest extension. MSRP 20,867.00. Well I tried for a trunkmonkey instead of a trunk net, but salesman looked at me like I was a retard.

I got my BRP 2001 RS coupe in California for more than you guys are saying. It was 20,895$ before taxes and I chose the perma-plating option from my dealer. With that 700$ option and taxes it was 23,000 out the door. It semms like you guys got better deals than me. I also had the sub/tweet package and the keyless/alarm package. After the brospeed muffler, short shift kit, JC sports intake, Rear 21mm sway bar, front&rear strut towers, a 12inch woofer, new Cd player, new rear speakers and an amp I now have blown 26k on my precious little car. For the price of all my mods I could have a turbo by now. OH WELL!

Bought my silver MY01 RS coupe a couple of weeks ago from Ron Price Subaru in South San Francisco. Options are security package, tweeter kit, and automatic transmission. (Got the auto for the wife -- as if she's ever gonna get a chance to drive the car!) They were asking $21,600. I negotiated a final price of $20,100 with 8.5% financing on a $7,000 downpayment.

Hi guys,

I am planning to order a 2.5RS in late December too since I don't like the look of the new WRX and they don't come with coupe. I am wondering should I order it online or go to a dealership and negoiate? Anyone have bought one from website? Which website/dealership would you guys recommend, I live in Davis,CA and I don't mind getting one from Bay Area.
Thanks for any input and advice in advance.

Well I said I was going stay away from logging on but I think I'll just keep my posts to a min.
alex_RS you should check out Mike Smith's dealer. Talk about good prices. I have been looking hard for the car that I'll be putting my money down on in December and I think I've found it. But I won't be paying sticker or even close to the normal sticker. I'll be paying more and I should be just as happy. I have contacted Chris Fleming at Huffines Subaru in Texas. Looks like a Cobb tuned RS will be mine in Feb. right now the most difficult part will be how do I find the time to get down there between work and school. Plus how will I break the engine in properly? I think I might rent a Penske truck and tow it home on a trailor.
