Post Reason to buy a new WRX?

I like it - if I buy a WRX, it's gonna be a wagon..

Yup, me too! I likes, I likes, especially the silver. Although Rally Blue with gold wheels is still damn cool! I am gonna wait for possibly MY03, though. We'll see.

A dealer here said that the wagon will come about 6 months after the sedan. Bloody hell!

The good news is the nobody seems to know what they are talking about.

I am also goingto wait for MY03 or possibly MY04. Let them work the bugs out first.

Eric-- If BMW builds a new 2 series in 2004 as rumored in the latest Automobile that's what I'm buying. 2200lb, RWD, various inline fours, $15k-22k depending on trim.

The WRX wagon is schweet though... and I wouldn't expect any bugs. This is no Ford Escape. The powertrain is virtually unchanged although new to North America, and the chassis is better. What's not to like?

I have a hard time believing BMW could build a 2200lb car. I've heard about the 2 series possibility, and it sounds cool. I'd like to see them build an M2, hehe. But I highly doubt it will be 2200lbs. The new M3 is 3450lbs, and about the lightest car that BMW currently makes is probably the Z3 at about 2800lbs. They make heavy vehicles.

Ever seen a 2002 in person? That size. 2200lb is a possibility, but I admit it is a high hope.

Why does the WRX have those ugly-ass Euro-spec ford escort looking fenders and the wagon has a nice clean design?

Thumbs up

Ah... BMW 2002. That was my first car. What an incredibly fun car that was! I miss it so. Youth and stupidity being what it was... I had more fun in that than a $500 car should allow.

On a Subie note, the WRX wagon kicks much bootie! I can't wait to go on a test drive or seven...

Seems like this vomes up once a week!
The WRX Wagon totally kicks ass. White Silver or Blue Steel. The wife wants to trade the OBS for a Forester S Premium. I'm trying to convince her to wait for turbo Wagon.

Well its a good thing everybody wants to get the wagon. Maybe I'll be able to pick up one of these for below MSRP then, considering the lack of demand for them .

I hope that you all go out and get the wagons. That just means that I will get my sedan that much faster.

I just wish Subaru would quit stalling and ship the cars to the U.S. and all of the other places that are still waiting for them. Oh well we have all waited for WRX's this long I guess we can wait a little longer. Even though it is not wearing the face that some of us wish that it had. I personally like the looks of the new Impreza.

I still want the wagon. And I still have my '02. 1975, 155hp Metric Mechanic engine, Panasport alloys, I love my car. But a 227hp AWD wagon; yeah baby.

Um...no. Basil, you are only allowed to get a WRX if you keep your current car. You've got the best color...red!! I saw pictures of your car and my girlfriend and I decided that I had to get a sedona red one too. Red is too rare so it'll want a friend...like a new wagon.

My car is already talking to me...It says thank you for buying me and I want a turbo wagon to keep me company next summer!

Hi Guys,

Last Sunday I spent an hour in my local dealer going over the new WRX and IMHO it looks fantastic in the 'flesh'.

Driving position is improved, especially if you are tall like me, and the whole car is much better looking than the original pictures suggested.

I'm waiting for a test drive and the dealer is looking at the availability of a WR Blue Mica with gold wheels.

Matt - Don't worry, the Red Imp stays - it just gets joined by the turbo wagon.. My girlfriend is driving around a beat up Geo Prism, so she'll either drive the turbo (ahahahahahah) or the RS.. Excellent..

Mmmmm That wagon is nice!
I've decided to wait for the '03 or '04 models in hopes of a coupe. If that doesn't happen, I'll get the wagon for sure!

Thanks for the picture, it's my new desktop at work!

I wish it came out right before Christmas, like all the other cool toys. I also wish we had a definite word on price, power, models, options, . . .
