Default SCIC road (bike) ride?

A few SCIC people helped me when I was picking which road bike to get, and we were talking about doing a ride when I get it. Well, I got it last night, it's pretty cool, and I want to go for a spin.

Anyone want to do a SCIC road ride on a weekend? Remember, I'm a road n00b.

I'm in. Depending on the weekend, my g/f would also join.

And Steve, I go spin some laps at GP often. Hit me up if wanna ride a weekday around 630p or so.

How's your new bike?

Where/What is the GP? Is that Griffith Park? How far is La cescenta from Hollywood (driving?)

I haven't spun around on the bike yet because I got home last night around 11, but MAN do I want to. I'm going to put it together tonight and take it out for a small spin!

I'd be totally up for a Griffith Park ride, and I work/live right by there (hollywood/Los Feliz), so I could probably swing 6:30. It sucks that it's getting dark earlier now...

I'm going to start doing some morning rides too.

Yep, GP = Griffith Park. La Crescenta is about 15-20 minutes away. We usually park at the zoo and do a few laps. The rest of this week is looking pretty shot, but my g/f and I are talking about a Sunday afternoon ride.

How about a mountain bike ride? Or even an urban obstacle ride...I ride everything. Drop-offs, rock gardens, stairs, you name it.

perhaps a sunday GP ride would work then. I prefer early morning Sunday or later afternoon Sunday.

Mountain bike ride? I do that too . mostly in the Santa Monica mountains, but also up on the Verdugo Motorway behind Burbank. I'd do an SCIC mtb. ride if people wanted.

Sunday late afternoon should work pretty well, say around 5p or so. I'll PM you my cell number and we can set it up.

And I'm always up for MTB riding as well! Codemonkey: Never tried urban, but I'd give it a go I think.

The verdugos are literally out my front door. If you go up Verdugo Motorway, and then down Whiting Woods, you'd be right at my place. Tuna Cyn/Beaudry/Whiting is my default dirt ride.
