what are my options around here? what bout tuolene?
Since all we got is 91, and the STi wants 93+ I am thinking of running with something like 2 gallons of 100 octane race gas at each fill up... That is gonna hurt

Coast in Walnut Creek has 110 for $4.10 a gallon, haven't tried it yet though. Would like to find more stations in Bay area though.

1387 S California Blvd. next to Pinkys.
Just talked to Paul, the 110 is leaded so we can't use that but he said he is ordering a bunch of 101 unleaded VP for us. He should have it soon, tell all your friends. Last edited by alex5511; 09-08-2004 at 03:38 AM. |

Morgan's Machine and Marine on 1285 Parkside Dr Walnut Creek has 100 but it is pricey:
$6.95 a gallon: 5 Gallon sealed jug $45, (including $10 for the jug which is not returnable or refundable) 16 Gallon jug $142.20 (including $30 jug deposit, $112.20 refills if your jug is perfect when you return it.) Pumps are $20. But soon Paul at Coast is going to get the 55 gallon drums with a pump so it should be a lot cheaper. Last edited by alex5511; 09-08-2004 at 03:39 AM. |

At the Andrade exit on 680, there is a run-down looking station with 100 octane gas in pump 10 (it's easy to miss that pump). Around $5 something per gallon when I checked a few weeks ago.

They changed their site after they were bought by Conoco.
You can't search on Race Gas now, just have to poke around. This is the one everyone goes to http://www.76.com/76locator/Distribu....asp?Add=95118 |

be careful with tolulene that stuff if used in high ratios it likes to eat rubber gaskets/seals. on a lighter note i can get tolulene for you. it works pretty good (used to use it in my turbo b20 teg).

I went to that 76 in San Jose last week and got the 100 octane, it is exciting watching that pump go up at 4.59 a gallon, just watching ur bank account dwindle, lol. Was good gas anyway.

a couple months ago, i had to bring a laptop to be repaired at a shop that was a street down from that place... of course i had to pick it up too... i told them to take as long as needed... took about 2 weeks to be repaired. each time of course, i'd visit the 76 station and pump a couple gallons... |

More power, better gas mileage, faster throttle response, and a lot less risk to your engine on those super hot days.

You can also try either or both of these for when you can't get to the pump:
Torco Race Concentrate GTA Enhancer The Torco concentrate is pretty easy to carry around, and even one can in a full tank of 91 makes a noticeable difference. The GTA gives me an extra mile to the gallon and helps prevent detonation as well. Not as cheap as 100 at the pump, but good stuff. You can even fill up on 87 and use Torco and GTA to get up to 91 if you are silly(costs more than a fillup with 91). |
