Thumbs up So who wants a turbo kit for $2000 or less?

Hi everyone...

I'm still finalizing the details with Tom Coleman, the Ludespeed tuner who's designing Impreza turbo kits.

I'm going to do one last interest gauge before we hook this sucker up. The outline is as follows:

Stage 1 kits would be non-intercooled and would feature a decent-sized turbo. These would be the "plug and play" kits running 5 psi. They would be upgradable and would NOT run a reconditioned turbo unit or any IHI for that matter. Think Garrett. Ideally we're looking at under $2000 for this kit, but $2000 may be more realistic.

Stage 2 kits would have a top mounted intercooler and one or two other goodies to run 7-8 psi on a bigger turbo. They would be highly upgradable and should get you into the 13s after you upgrade the clutch and the exhaust. Of course, shoulds, coulds, and woulds are only worth so much...so we're working on that. Ideally, cost will be a $2750 or so.

These would be groupbuy prices...meaning we'd have to get about 10 people together for them to take effect. I'm not advertising here. I'm looking for interest.

Any feedback-what you're looking for in a kit, what you'd like to see, what price you're willing to pay-is welcome. We'd like to get these orders together before Thanksgiving.

Have a good one, folks. Be excited-more competition in the Impreza aftermarket. And this is going to be good.

Oh, and one last thing-

If there is interest, a Stage 3 kit may be considered. It would use a good-sized turbo, have a front intercooler, and would make for mid 13s. That would be significantly more expensive...probably around $3500 for all the goodies and trinkets you could ever want.

If there's interest in that, let me know.

[Monty Burns mode] Excellent [/Monty Burns mode]

This sounds great! I don't currently have the resources (read: time and money, I little of both sine I'm in college) to have a 300 HP monster, but something that is a direct bolt on to boost (pun intended) performance would by right up my alley

Accident-and others-

Let me know which kit you would be most interested in. Stage 1 (non-intercooled), stage 2 (intercooled), or stage 3 (keep your hands and feet away from its mouth.)

Even if you're not in the market right now, all you can do is help by mentioning what your ideal turbo kit is. Thanks!

Probably stage 2; not a whole lot more but it sounds more upgradeable. However, once I graduate w/ my CS degree (in about 1.5 years) maybe I'll have all sorts of money throw towards something like the stage 3

I'd be interested in a Stage 2. 7 psi is where I'd like to be. No need for lots of electronics. Now only if you were doing Superchargers.... mmm... supercharger...

Probably stage 1, depending on what turbo you use. I dont want to completely rule out adding an intercooler and 10+psi later on, but I dont have that much $$$ to get started in the turbo world.
MY00 compatible.

Stage 2, upgradeable, MY00 compatable, and I'd need to know alot more about the components. What brand intercooler, dimensions, what size turbo, etc etc....

But I'd be very interested.

I'd be interested in a Stage 1 with an intercooler. I mean, having that huge mouth on my hood; it would be nice to feed it something. 5psi sounds like a nice number to keep my car going forever, and it will give me the extra *umph* when I need it! Bolt-on sounds very nice, I don't like anything that require me to think to do. A simple diagram with colors would me nice :-D

Cool

The sound of any BOV will satisfy all of man's needs!

Well, something to back up that BOV that is... hehehe... don't think a BOV only works for a turbo... cause there is actually a product out in Japan that uses a computerized(sp? it's late) system hooked up to a horn under the hood that would give you that sound hehe....

ok bye

how about a stage 2 that'll run 12psi? Stage 3 would be nice, but don't want to have to go through all the work involved with the front mount IC (i.e. I like my A/C )

I'll take a ball bearing turbo w/ all electrics, front AND top mount intercooler, new tranny&clutch, water spray, hardened engine internals, new heads & exhaust, throttle body, intake manifold, headers, and a partridge in a pear tree... can you get that for me for under $2k installed?
damn...
I'd like to know more about it, but I'm thinking stage 2...
