Default Fuel filter replacement

I have 30k miles on my 2.5 RS & will be replacing the fuel filter..
Question..is it necessary to depressurize the system first or can I simply let it sit overnight & then replace? Any hints/techniques would be appreciated.:

Let it sit over night. Just changed mine the other day. Have a rag or 2 sitting underneath, just in case to catch the spill of gas. There will still be gas in the line, so keep them upright. Then slip the ring back on the new filter and put it in. Hope this helps.
