Default Alberta Subaru Club - September Meet & Garage Sale @ Rally Subaru

As the topic says, we're getting together with Rally Subaru (Edmonton) again for a meet, and they are also having their first ever "Garage Sale". The date is Saturday, September 27, 2003. This will be an all day event, but it would be great if we could try to arrange a time that works for all. Sound out here.

Rally has been doing some research and will be offering not only FHI stuff, but also some aftermarket items for your Subie.

Some info being disseminated via the Alberta Subaru Club yahoo board, but we will also keep this thread updated as well.

Link to albertasubaru is here ===> http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/albertasubaru/

Rally is just starting to get into this, so I wouldn't expect a HUGE assortment of goodies as I'm sure they want to "test the waters" somewhat before going head first. I plan on going to support them and see what I can afford (without the wife finding out of course).

I believe that Jeremy is still finilising some of the goodies that they will have available, but I did hear the word "Perrin" being bantered about.

Just resurrecting this thread to remind folks that the First Annual Rally Subaru Garage Sale is this upcoming [edit]SATURDAY[/edit].

They will have a number of items up for grabs, including a "bargin bin" that will be first come first serve.

Jeremy showed me some of the stuff that he brought in last week and I'm jealous that some of this stuff isn't available for the GC8/GC6's.

The time is from 10:00AM to 6:00PM, but do any of you want to meet up at any particular time (besides you keeners that will be there @10:00AM to scrounge through the bargin bin)?

Please post your preference here or on the albertasubaru list.

Thanks.

Ahhh nuts!!*&%@
Looks like I'll be working. Keep it open until 6pm and I should be able to get there. Just keep a list of the good deals the vultures buy up early in the day so I can have a reference for next time.

My wife is teachng a course tomrrow morning, and I couldn't get a babysitter to come any earlier than 9:45AM, so I will be there probably about 10:15-10:30AM.

You early bird "vultures", try to leave some stuff for the rest of us okay?

im not really sure, id imagine not to much as they are just trying to get into performance parts (i think mostly perrin stuff but i could be wrong). but i wouldnt mind checkin out your car, and it is for a good cause. i belive that if this has a decent turnout, the big boss will allow jeremy(parts guy) to dab into the aftermarket world alittle more.

Default Thanks Rally Subaru

Well, the first annual Rally Subaru Garage Sale has officially come and gone.

It looked like the turn-out was pretty decent and we met a few new converts (nice meeting you wheelhop ==> welcome to your new obsession).

Jeremy has asked for some feedback from those that attended and we would kindly request that you offer your comments here OR at the albertasubaru yahoo group (see link in the very first post above).

I will double post and simply copy what I posted in that venue for those of you that haven't signed up yet.

Jeremy,

Thank you for the hospitality you and Rally showed us "geeks" yesterday (well, I'm admit that I'm a geek anyway).

I very much enjoyed the fact that you and Rally have taken some initiative to help support those of us that feel a little more passionate about FHI product(s) than perhaps your average buyer. I coulnd't agree more that as a group, we can be an excellent resource for Rally and SOC in generating interest in the fine products offered by Subaru.

My ONLY critisism was that there were very few parts for us "old school" Imprezas, but understand that its difficult to get stuff for a product that you no longer offer. Had I been a WRX owner, It was good to see that many parts were available, especially for those that are new to the "modding" scene. I personally hope that as this becomes more common place for Rally, we'll see some very exclusive parts for those of us that spend BIG dollars on our cars (i.e. the aforementioned "geeks").

That being said, I would hope that those of us that are into spending money on our cars will appreciate the effort that Rally is making here and take the opportunity to support them by buying the products they offer. I know from experience, that the Perrin parts that I saw yesterday are of high(er) quality than MANY aftermarekt parts that I have seen for Subaru's. If I already didn't own an adjustable rear sway bar, I would have bought the Perrin one you were selling yesterday in a heart beat.

One more thing, I know that we've talked about it in the past, but a parts list/catalogue would have been a big plus. I am rarely an impulse buyer and providing some info to folks that they could have taken home with them and contemplate how they are going to pay/afford it probably would be a plus for Rally in the long run. Perhaps something to work on for the future (like before Christmas so I can check the items I want and then hand it to my wife for ideas - HINT HINT).

As far as the "Venue" that you set-up, I thought that you really made the shop look top notch. Kudos on your effort there again. I
especially enjoyed the "veiwing" area where you were showing WRC events even if I had to sit with Darren Brown (j/k)

All-in-all ==> Good job Jeremy and Rally Subaru!!!

Regards,
Mark

PS Tell Dawn and your GF that they make a wicked burger.

PPS I will e-mail you my pics to your e-mail addy.

Nick,

CONGRATS!! You'll love it. I'd be more than happy to help you install it as I've done a few. As a word of warning, please, Please, PLEASE, do your self a favour and clean the underside of your car in the area of the swaybar mounts and lower lateral links BEFORE changing the bar out. It will make the change-over easier.

The passenger side charcoal canister for gas tank emissions bolts to the same hole as the mount and it can be VERY difficult to get that mount in after the stock one is removed, so the cleaner it is in that area, the easier it will be. Trust me on this one.

Cheers,
MB

I must say the Perrin parts are great... Hope we will have another one of these sometime next year. Markus did a great job of summarizing of what I wanted to say. The viewing area was great... yeah and espcially with Darren...

oh and it will be even more fun if more ppl can show up...
