Tom I just bought a used kartboy knob of private classifieds(sorry for not buying new). And it doesn't screw on. Is it possible its a mazda one or the threads being messed up? I'm putting it onto a short shifter I got from you about a year ago.

the threads could be boggered on either one.

take one of the lugnuts off your car and see if it threads on the shifter. only use your hand. if it does thread on just fine then the knob needs to be cleaned up.
the Mazda knob is 10mm and the base is a lot larger approx 1.50 VS 1.00 on the subaru
