should i remove the tranny, or just unbolt the engine and move it forward. i've heard that moving the engine is the easier way to go. any websites with reference or anything?

i have done were you'r going, i would rec. taking the tranny out. i am no expert, and the other method you indicated i cant say anything about. i personally have never heard anyone doing that process before. the tranny weighs 131lb. so be careful and use good jack stands so that you get the car high enough. if you have never done one before i would rec you become informed of the process. there is a hex bolt that needs to come out, and then you slide out a dowel that holds the clutch fork in place. YOU MUST REMOVE THIS FIRST THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if you have questions you can call me @ 1-757-641-8839, ask for kevin

Yes,
PULL THAT DOWEL OUT THAT IS RIGHT BELOW THE CLUTCH FORK FIRST!!!! I forgot and couldnt figured out why the tranny wouldnt come out. I am stupid. Just as a little tip. the battery tie down rods are the right thread to pull out the dowel of its hole after the plug is out with a 10mm allen. RJ |
