Default Sad day at S-Squared

I write this with a heavy heart to let you all know that Jeremy Starr (the second half of the S-Squared name) was killed in an auto accident on his way to the shop last night. He was driving down a 2 lane road when a truck in the oncoming lane tried to pass with not enough room and struck Jeremy head on in his 323 GTX.

One of our customers has set up a memorial fund for his wife and daughter. We have set up a PayPal account and if you would like to donate any amount of money to the fund, please do so to the email address memorialfund@ss-ms.com

Even with such a tragic event as this, we will continue to do our best to offer the best service we can to our customers. This next week will be very difficult as with the services and also our move next week. If you have a problem getting a hold of us, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for all your kind words.

Here was the only picture I have at the moment of Jeremy, doing what he would always do at our BBQ's here.. cook a mean hamburger.

He will be greatly missed, not only by myself, but by everyone’s lives that he touched.

GG Jeremy

I will donates something.

You may also consider doing a fund raiser/raffle. They are doing it for a Pro MTB rider from Santa Cruz MTB's team that got hurt really badly...was in a coma....it looks like they are going to raise thousands by halloween...wouldn't be surprised to see it get close to $10k.

You call up some of the companies you deal with and I guarantee you will get some seriously cool stuff to put up in the prizes for the raffle and I bet you could rack up 5-10k for his family by thanksgiving. It would be a great holiday present for the family as that is going to be an insanely trying time for them. I lost my mom at a young age and holidays are still rough...15 years later.

My prayers go out to the family. The child especially.

Where are you guys located. If you are close enough I would be happy to lend my 230pounds to your move to help free up time for you guys.

if you want to check out what they are doing for johnny...the raffle fund and how well it's doing check this link...I think it would be great for the family.

http://www.bikereg.com/races/register.asp?EventID=1076

from the last tally I have found...mind you this is week one for this and it goes until halloween....tally is around $2000-3000.

Thank you everyone for all the really kind words... they really do help.

I'm Jeremy's cousin, and it's been extremely hard for all of us the past few days. I'm heading up north from LA to be with the family tommorrow and will pass on all your sincere wishes that are being posted here. The raffel idea is an excellent idea! I'll be sure to mention that to Nate when I see him tomorrow.

I'm still in too much shock over this to write what should truely be written about Jeremy. Our family is very close and this is simply devistaing for us. For those who never got to meet Jeremy, I will say that you would not have met a more genuine guy. He was the kind that would go the extra mile for you, that would always be there with a solution. He was the kind of kid that if he dumped his bike or ate it on his skateboard, he'd just get back up and do it again till he got it right. He didn't let obstacles stop him, and he took that ethic with him into adulthood and became a loving husband and father, a master mechanic who was a natural for invention and fabrication of parts from scratch, a skilled driver on and off the track, a sly wit with a great sense of humor... He was a really fun guy to be around, and he is sadly missed.

Thank you all again.

if you decide to push on with the raffle idea let me know...I can put you in direct contact with the orginizers of the other one.

it is going really really well and I know it will be a huge blessing to the family to see that check and know that so many people wanted to contribute to something because of their lost loved one. it really is important to know that the one you lost was appreciated and will be missed.

email me at Liveluv121@yahoo.com.

And to the shop guys...my offer is still out there for an extra body for the move if you need it.

godspeed.

I remember back when Jeremy was involved in opening a local skate shop in town. I have heard only great things about him and his family from my friends who knew them. Sincerest condolences from myself, and several others from his hometown. May God watch over his family.

hehe, ahh the boardwalk , those were the days.

yes we are going to plan on getting a raffle together, I appreciate everyones help,

Lisa ( Jeremys wife ) also asked me to thank everyone for the help, its nice to see people stepping up through this whole situation. Scott forgot to mention that Lisa is also 6 months pregnant at the moment, so anything you can donate will help make a difference.

If any mods read this, can we sticky it?

-Thanks,
Nate

Nate, I'd like to ask that memorial fund be left open indefinitely, as I realize that the money can be used for Jeremy's family's most urgent needs.

I ask that BAIC members please contribute what you can. I realize that the local economy has not been too kind to some folks but perhaps it would work out better if smaller donations could be made over time, such as on paydays, if you are able.

Thanks for listening.

Is it tacky to use another's words to express my condolences?
