Question anyone had trouble matching silver paint?

I have a question for anyone that has painted the silverthorn metallic. I have to paint two front fenders and the front fascia, and don't want to blend into the doors if possible. What is your experience with painting the silverthorn regarding match and texture of the metallic?

I am not a professional painter, but have painted quite a few cars in the past. Any opinions on what brand of paint to use?

Gotta get this thing painted and get the project GOING!!!

Thanks, Steve

Yeah, that's about right.

As they say the proof is in the pudding. With all the silver cars running around these days I've seen some pretty good color matching by experienced painters. All you folks with BRP that color is going to be a b*tch to match. No hope whatsoever for the new WRX's blue/black paint. Going to have to have it painted by Einstein himself...

When I recently painted my sideskirts and spats on my MY01 silverthorn I used PPG acrylic urethane and it looks to me like it matched very nicely, but the car is only 2 months old so there was no fading yet.

Call the Dealership that services your car and ask them who does their body work. Then just ask that body shop they should know what paint it is.

Good Luck

Get the color code to a body shop and let them make the paint for you. We cannot really find a paint that match our suby's Black, Blue, and Silver. Last time I went to body shop to paint my spoiler. They had put five or six different color mixed together to match my silver.
