Default EJ22 (Brighton) modding??

Looking through some websites and finding that a lot of modding parts are made for the 2.5RS. (engine and suspension-wise).

If I end up with a Brighton, would I not be able to do much modding from aftermarket? (unless I payed a ton of money)...

Or would 2.5RS stuff fit on a Brighton? (like springs, shocks, etc.)

Or would modifications for 2.5RS also fit the Brighton?

I'm pretty sure brightons are 1.8l. All suspension and most interior stuff will fit. You will run into some problems if you don't have AWD or a rear swaybar, stuff like that. For the most part though, you will find plenty to throw money into.

Not to flame "JC" but the brighton IS a 2.2 and has awd. It is, at least the one I drive, a awd wagon with a 5 speed.

To answer your question most 2.5 parts fit, don't worry. Even the heads off of the 2.5 fit the block just fine althought you will have to change the manifold.

The motor actually responds well to forced induction, as a side note.
If you have any questions let me know, before I went to my current swap. I had the most heavily modded brighton, and possibly 2.2 on this board, bar none.

I have even got my port and polished intake manifold laying around if you are interested.

You mean a Brighton Legacy? I assumed he was talking about the Impreza. Which is a 1.8l coupe, either FWD or AWD.

Here is a list of reasons not to start with a Brighton versus an RS or even an L if you have the choice. It's more than just lacking certain parts- it's just not as easy to mad as the other Imprezas. It's the lowest on the list of potential as far as Imprezas go.
