Unhappy P1 goes Bang.....

Seems some UK owners are having problems with their P1's. If it's not paint problems, or brakes, now someones engine has blown

I have never seen/heard more car's engines blow up like party baloons than in UK. 22B blow up, STi's blow up, GT's blow up and now the P1.

Here in US, only few people blew up their turboed EJ25's. I wonder why?

Also, my friend's euro Impreza Turbo blew a hole in one of the pistons in Moscow. Stock car. BOOM!

Maybe it's the gas or something.

I don't know how many words this is, but I think that people should "listen" to their engine and "care" for it and not just mash it and think that since its a P1 or an STi it is bullet proof.

That proves that there are no bulletproof engines. Be it a closed, open, or whatever block. There are people that drive the car and there are people that let the car drive them.

And I thought SOA sounded funny.

tee hee... SUK
Not that great of initials... maybe somebody should have swapped it so it was UK Subaru. UKS is better than SUK.

I don't think it's the gas( petrol) as in the Uk they have 97RON which equates to around 94/95 ish ((RON+ MON) /2) that we have in the states which is a lot better than most of us get.

Maybe we should start an I-Club lottery on the 1st WRX engine to go BANG ??

Lottery? Hehe, sure. Remember, Adam B was runnning 15 psi on him Minnam'ed 9.7:1 compress'ed EJ25 motor and it finally died after over a year of daily driving and numerous drag races. Are you sure you want to be $ that a motor tuned in the US "will" blow up sometime?

I really do hope that the cause of the "Kaboom" problems lays somewhere within the UK, be it petrol or people that don't listen. I really hope that it is not the EJ20 itself that is causing all these problems. And if it is, then I will personally chase all the "EJ20-is-a-purpose-built-bulletproof-group-n-this-and-group-n-that" people with a jackstand and try to smack some sense into them. Who knows. Time will show. All I know, is that I am building an EJ25 from the ground up and putting it into my WRX within the next year.

What do you think, RIch, you have them both now. Da blue and da black.

Ok, now back to my "T. Jefferson vs. J. Madison and their thoughts on human nature and fractions" paper. Damn school!
