I got my car in Oct...and in Nov some ass**** in a van going the other way shot my driver's side door with a BB as we passed each other. Totally random, never caught. Oh, and just $85 less than my deductible to fix. GRRR.

Right after getting my brand new 99 Outback in June of 99 and parking it in my parent's driveway (I was still living there at the time) I woke up and found some nasty scratches on the hood scoop that looked like someone took 3 or 4 keys and ran them down and around the scoop. I was so pissed and was about to start going around knocking on doors until I saw my cat jump up on the newly waxed car and slide right off.

Damn cats.

I haven't been keyed, BUT I have been "hubcapped." Going uphill in Downtown SD, a rusty hubcap of an old Volvo wagon in front of me rolled right off the wheel and slashed my rightside sideskirt. Grr... but lucky for me it didn't hit the body paint.

Also, I've had numerous bubblegum incidents.

It took me 3 months then got keyed. I parked in a public parking lot while going to watch a movie with my gf. Key mark was from front passenger door to the bumber. I found it 2 days later while I was waxing my car. Let me tell you I was hella hella pissed!!!!!!!

I recall "keying" cars. This was long long time ago (Knight Rider was still on TV), way back before I was a CRZ_MSL, just a little punk-ass V-1. Well, we used a strip of copper to do it. Must have gotten 50-60 cars in the Disneyland parkinglot. At least. At the time it seemed like such a cool neat fun thing to do. Nothing gives you respect for another persons car quite like having a car of your own.

I recall laughing with my co-conspirators about how cool it would be to scratch the paint off cars as we walked from one side of the Disneyland parking lot to the other.

My apologies to all of you who have had your cars messed with.

Reading your tales of woe reminded me that at one time -I- was the agent of this sort of sensless damage.

2 weeks- Car got towed away with rear wheels rolling. Damaged transmission and diff. Rented big ass RAM truck while in shop. Damages and rental fully paid by tow co.

7 months- Rear bumper scratched by some idiot.

10 months- Minor dent on front right quarter panel. Hardly noticeable. No biggie.

Time to maintain a low profile guys. Sometimes your driving skills will p*ss off others. My new car is invisible.

It took about a week for mine to get keyed. It has been done like ten times since. It almost looks like a pattern now or some crazy graphics. I cannot let it get me down, it has happened to every car I have owned. Lots of jealous people live by me.

i'm just wondering what caused your cars to be vandalised? Is it your parking job? driving behaviour? jealousy? etc...

I know that it was not my parking job, being in MY driveway and all (I live on a corner, very short driveway, open to the world) I know i didnt drive like an ******* around someone because the car was new and i was driving it like a grandmother. I am fairly sure it was either (a) completely random, someone walked by and said "there's a car, key it" or (b) someone who would rather vandalize someone else's property because they're jealous and are too f'in lazy to get a job and buy themselves stuff, same reason they steal cars.

Getting keyed always sucks... i've got enough in my car, not sure if there all keys or just people being stupid in parking lots.. but somehow i get the feeling i'm going to be assiting in repairing that scratch on your trunk..
