Default Car cutting out at 3000 RPMs

i dont know what it is. i checked the plug wires, they're fine. i was having problems with the ignition wire of the ECU, i had some wires somewhere that kept shorting out the ignition wire. i pulled the guage wires off of it and it doesnt short out anymore. so what could this cut off be? even very light throttle, it all gets cut back at 3000 RPMS, never shuts off though. when it cuts back, it has a real blah sound to it. someone shoot any ideas to me. thanks!

Sounds like it could be Limp home mode. Check the MAF wires and the MAF to make sure it's still in one piece.

what had happened was the ignition wire to the SAFC got pulled too, so every signal that was getting sent into the SAFC wasnt going anywhere. so yeah, in was basically the MAF signal. all is well for now. thanks.
