Thumbs down SOA's answer on ST-X engine...

Read this ear Mr. Geyer:

Thank you for visiting the Subaru Web site, and for your inquiries.

The ST-X engine is not available for sale, nor would it be available for your '99 Impreza 2.5RS. This supercharger engine will not be available, except for the ST-X, if it is decided to offer the ST-X with this supercharger. Rimmer designed the supercharger for our ST-X concept vehicle.

We do not recommend the installation of any aftermarket components or modifying any component of our vehicles. Best wishes!!

YOUR ORIGINAL MAIL:

Will the ST-X engine with the S/C I/C fit the MY99 2.5 RS?
Might need the ST-X's engine management, too.
Will the S/C be available as aftermarket part? Who makes it? Rimmer or Jackson?

Hmm, Rimmer, must be a very limited production ST-X, haha.
BTW, my car is bone stock, of course...

Rimmer, eh? No wonder the evolution from Brat to STX took so long.

Rimmer? That's strange. The actual car was put together by some shop in Michigan (the name escapes me and I am to lazy to look it up). Well maybe I am not

From Subaru's site:
"2.5-liter SOHC 4-cylinder boxer engine with Eaton supercharger and Subaru B4 intercooler"

"A special Subaru of America team designed and developed the ST-X with technical support from Subaru in Japan, and Specialized Vehicles, Inc. (SVI) of Troy, Michigan built the ST-X concept. The ST-X Team worked with SVI to develop the vehicle over the Internet, cutting development and construction time by about three months. Engineers and designers used a secure website to collaborate on ideas and construction methods."

Doesn't look like a Rim---mer job to me.

Bob
