Diz,
I don't know what it is with the CSPD, but they seem to let a few of us off occasionally. Last new years day, I was heading back up to Westminster on I-25 in my 1999 Audi A4 Sport and some guy was pissing me off behind me just as I was approaching the large left hand turn to get onto 36. About 1/4 mile before the turn I dropped the hammer and flew around that corner faster that I had ever imagined (and the car took it quite nicely actually), but instead of seeing that a--hole come around the corner in my rearview I saw a white State patroler come racing around the corner with his lights on. He said that he nailed me at 87 in the apex of the turn and that I was probably going somewhat faster at some point....BUT HE LET ME GO with just a warning.
I made a news years resolution that day to be more careful..and I have been.
I think he just was glad to take that Z-28 around that corner at well over 100 mph.
He even asked me how well the Audi did. I thought that was pretty cool.

I don't get it.

Some of us in Colo Springs can be just rolling down the road late at night, deep in thought and minding our own business, without another stoopid car on the road, not in any hurry to get anywhere, get stopped, be nice to the officer, not have a clue why we were stopped, and then when told we were cruising at 49 in a downhill 35 zone we can't get no stinkin warning!

Where is the justice in that?

Exclamation Got off lucky...

Well, it was bound to happen. I have spent the last couple of days doing some fine tuning on the car. Of course, the elevated level of tuning necessitated the need for an 'elevated' level of testing. Hence, I've been tearing a$$ around the city.

Anyway, I was on the way to lunch today in my car and was dorking around with a co-worker on a CBR900 RR. We were definately exceeding the posted limit as we zipped by not one, but TWO, parked CSPD cruisers. Needless to say, we got quite the earful at the next light. No citations were issued, but the driver's seat of my car may need some cleaning.

So, think about my good fortune and save yourself the ticket. Have fun out there.

Sorry, Larry. Looks like you got hit with my bad ju-ju. We did get off lucky the other night while tuning your car. I think we zipped by that cop on Galley doing at least 60.

Nice one, Stacey. I saw a maroon undercover z28 on I25 between Castle Rock and the Springs last weekend. Watch out for him. He blends nicely....

Angry

52 in a 35 last week. And I knew it was a speed trap and already had the throttle lifted before I saw the County Mounty, but she didn't want to hear it. Damn, 2 more points, and pretty much no chance to fight it (or it will become 5 points!).

New stinking law in DE. If you already have points on your license (I have 1), you automatically get points if you get another ticket within 3 years (my last was 2 1/2 years ago). No chance of reduction to a no points violation. That's just not right.
