Does anyone tow a small trailer with their 2.5RS??? If I break down and get one I'll need to tow a small motorcycle trailer which should be no more than about 600/700 Ibs fully loaded.
Anyone done this??? -mykrrrr

The SOA web site lists the towing capacity of the 2001 at 1500lbs. I would assume this goes for the 2000 as well...

Why can the Forester and Legacy tow 2000 pounds if they have the same engine?

Legacy is a heavier platform with a longer wheelbase, that would be my guess.
As to the forester? It's basically an impreza with a lift that someone tossed a box over. Not sure why it tows more, maybe the weight of the cardboard-box? |

My buddy tows a small trailer with his OBS. If an OBS can handle it (2.2 L engine) then a 2.5 RS certainly can. He didn't have too much trouble finding a tow hitch, either, but I don't remember where he got it.

Try U-Haul. They install hitches usually. I know they make one for the RS.

My buddy tows a speedboat with his RS and he complains about it*L* He says when he is backed down a launch ramp loading his boat onto the trailer and he goes to pull out of the slippery muck, the damn RS NEVER EVEN SPINS ITS WHEELS. He said its not like the 4 wheel drive blazer that he use to get stuck with!!
True story..... |

Cool. I'm in the process of buying an RS, and I too wanted to know about a hitch. Sounds great, 1500 pounds should be plenty for a utility trailer.
